Accredited Dance Qualifications Across Australia

The Australian Dance Institute (ADi) offers a range of nationally accredited dance qualifications across all Australian states and territories, tailored for students aged 11 and above. Our programs provide comprehensive training that meets the needs of aspiring dancers and dance teachers, with the flexibility to learn at your own pace and in your preferred environment.

Flexible, Comprehensive Learning

Our courses are delivered through a flexible distance learning model, allowing students to study according to their individual needs. The program includes learner guides, assessment tasks, practical experiences, and guided self-learning activities, all designed to help you master your chosen dance genre—whether that’s classical ballet, jazz, tap, or contemporary.

We support students through internal tutor guidance and assessments, while collaborating with an external dance supervisor to ensure you gain valuable in-studio experience (work placement). This approach ensures a well-rounded education that blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer

What is RPL?

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) allows your existing work, life, and learning experiences to count toward a VET qualification. If you have prior industry qualifications or substantial experience as a dancer or dance teacher, you may be eligible for RPL, enabling you to complete your qualification in a shorter time by being exempt from certain units or subjects.

  • RPL: Credit is given for relevant work experience, skills, and knowledge gained through various activities, including volunteer work and in-house training. This evidence is used to assess your competency against the learning outcomes of the units you are applying for.

  • Credit Transfer: If you have completed relevant formal learning, such as courses, modules, or units of competency, you may be eligible for a credit transfer. We accept transcripts from all VET Registered Training Organisations within Australia, which may allow you to complete your ADi qualification more quickly.
